Unfiltered Stories of Survival, Softness, and Showing Up Anyway

Writer. Overcomer. Black single mom.

I didn’t start KamxKenn to teach. I started it to survive.

I’ve lived through chaos—abuse, addiction, the kind of silence that makes noise feel dangerous. And even now, I still battle the weight of anxiety. I overthink everything. Some days, depression sits heavier than my to-do list. But I write anyway.

Motherhood forced me to face my pain and soften it into something honest. This isn’t a perfectly curated space. It’s messy. It’s emotional. It’s real. It’s what happens when a Black woman refuses to hide anymore.

KamxKenn is a Black mom blog, but more than that—it’s my safe space. A space where I don’t have to pretend I’m okay to be worthy of being heard. A space where trying is enough.

If you’re here too—tired, healing, holding it all together—just know you’re not alone. We’re both figuring it out. Loudly.

Stay in Touch

Some days, I have to force myself to be a mom, to work, to move through the motions when the weight of an episode hits harder than usual.

But if you subscribe, you won’t just get updates—you’ll get me, in real time. The raw, healing, growing version. You’ll get new posts, reflections I don’t always share publicly, and a reminder that you’re not alone in this mess.

This space is for us. For every woman learning to show up when it’s hard. Subscribe if you’re ready to figure it out with me—loudly.
